Banana Republic Trench Dress - Ginger Side of Life

Dress: Banana Republic (c/o); Jacket: Madewell; Shoes: Madewell (old); Sunglasses: Prada; Earrings: Happiness Boutique (c/o); Lipstick: Elf

Good morning friends and Happy Happy New Year (I know, a little late)! Hope your 2017 has started off well and you are enjoying all the end of season sales! Every time I see a sign for an “extra 30-40% off sale,” my shopping gene goes into full drive and I.MUST.BUY.EVERYTHING.BECAUSE.ITS.SUCH.A.GOOD.PRICE!!! Am I the only one?

On another note work has finally slowed down but has been replaced with wedding planning – way more fun! We are officially less than six months out from the wedding and starting to feel the pressure to get items ticked off my to-do list. We are going to Ireland in March to finish planning and I will feel so much better once we are there. As of now, we have almost all of our appointments booked with vendors and it is going to be a whirlwind five days! While visiting, we will finally have our engagement shoot (two years later!) with our Dublin based photographer. I am starting to pull together potential outfits and this Banana Republic Trench Dress is definitely coming with me. I love the bow details on the sleeves and how perfectly timeless the dress is. It comes in Olive and Sand, so you cannot go wrong with this dress. It runs a little big, I am wearing a “zero” and I am definitely not a “zero,” so my advice would be to size down. The fabric is so soft and buttery, a perfect rayon/poly blend.

The dress is also a perfect wear-to-work dress, so Banana Republic has you covered from “desk-to-dinner!” Any other suggestions on what to wear for an engagement shoot? I am thinking classics – white full skirt, chunky sweater (it is going to be cold!), trench coat – but also a fun print, because, well, it is me! I was looking at this Leopard Print dress from BR to fulfill my print quota, what do you think?
