Since we moved to Palo Alto, Ryan has been trying to take me to the Skyline Ridge Open Space Reserve. For one reason or another, we never made it. It is a shame it took us as long as it did to get up there because once we started the drive we instantly regretted dragging our feet. The drive to Skyline Ridge is beautiful. The trees, the greenery and the windy roads captivated me at every turn. We sat cozy in the car with the heat blasting, the music off and enjoying each other’s company as we drove.
The best part about the drive was that we were able to take my 90 year old grandmother with us. She loved the drive and was just as captivated as I was. I know people always say that having little ones around reminds you to stop and enjoy the little moments in life, and I think the same could be said of the other spectrum of life. My grandmother is 90 years old. She has seen a lot in this world, and nothing makes her happier than going to for drive and looking out the window, making our Skyline Ridge explorations that much more special.
As we drove, we would stop and get out of the car to let my grandmother stretch her legs. I knew it would be pretty chilly out there, so I wore this light weigh black and white checkered collarless coat layered over a thick sweater. The jacket is from SheIn. I have worn their brand before on the blog (you can see the items here and here) and they have have stylish and affordable items that are on trend. If you are worried about shipping time, this gal took about 10 days to arrive at my door. On the little longer side, but for the price, it was worth the wait.
So seriously, if you have not visited Skyline Ridge yet, and you are in the area, get yourself up there soon!
