When Pantone originally announced their 2016 Color of the Year, I, like the rest of the world, immediately swooned over the soothing and serene color palette that is rose quartz (■) and serenity (■). And for someone who dearly loves bright and saturated colors, I quickly went over to the light side. Sadly my closet was not as quickly won over. So I started scouring the internet for what would be my first purchase in rose quartz and/or serenity and I chose this serenity dress! I was immediately hooked. I needed more rose quartz and serenity in my life (i.e beautiful rose quartz ball gowns, perfect serenity trousers, and peeps, because, well, it’s almost Easter!) and Spring wardrobe.
Since I do not have oodles of money to create an entirely new wardrobe filled with this beautiful color combo, I wanted to create a visual inspiration board that would satisfy my taste for new items. I started my search on Pinterest and found this beautiful board. It is pretty amazing, #amirite?!? After getting my Pinterest fix, I spent time on Farfetch, because when are your dreaming about a new wardrobe, why not start at the top?!? I immediately fell head over heels for the Halston Ball Gown. Then pictured myself wearing the serenity and rose quartz midi skirt combo on a weekend trip to Sonoma (a girl can dream), and the trouser and blouse outfit to work. Three very different looks, all perfectly summing up Pantone’s Color of the Year, a perfect mixture of class, elegance and femininity.
