Last weekend Ryan and I made the journey north to Napa to meet our family visiting from New York for two days of sun, good company and the obvious, wine tasting. Nothing makes me happier than seeing family, add a glass of wine, and I am positively giddy.
First on the agenda was
Tacobell Cakebread. Second, Turnbull. Third Chandon. Finally dinner at ZuZu. All four stops were fantastic but I think as a group, we enjoyed our Turnbull tasting the most. Judging by the fact that we spent over three hours there, I think it was a clear winner. That was until dinner. ZuZu’s is AMAZING (said in a sing song-y voice). Since there were nine of us, we sat at a large communal table and have the luxury of befriending our table-mates. We interrupted them with every new dish that arrived at their end of the table, asking eagerly “if we should or this or that.” We got the “yeah or nah,” on every dish and it was glorious. Highly, highly recommend ZuZu’s!
It is always a refreshing getaway when we spend time in wine country but this particular weekend was so special because we got to spend time with our family and lucky for us continue the engagement celebrations with a night of bowling at our hotel. Seriously. One of the most fun weekends to date.
