Welcome to the beautiful island of Ko Phi Phi! As I am sure many of you have heard, The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, was filmed near Ko Phi Phi, at Maya Bay. So of course, if Leo DiCaprio visited, I must flock there too, just like every good teeny bopper from the 90s would do.

Ko Phi Phi is a beautiful island, and the waters are truly the clear, turquoise waters I was looking for in my Thailand experience. However, as much as I was head over heels in love with the soothing waters, the long-tail boats really captured my interest. I was captivated by the colors of the garlands, flowers, and ribbons, all placed there for protection. So when it came time to show off my new favorite Mint Julep dress (can honestly say that phrase, and mean it, because I have four dresses currently in my possession), I knew I wanted to take photos near the long-tail boats.

Ko Phi Phi is a beautiful island, and we chose to stay close to town. We had ventured out to stay on Long Beach, but that walk turned into a disaster ending with one of my upper thighs (aka butt cheek) getting eaten alive by mosquitoes (I was wearing pants, just in case you were wondering), my dad also serving up his ankles as the main Thanksgiving course to the mosquitos, and my mom and Ryan melting from the heat. Ultimately, the four of us decided to abandon the idea of Long Beach for less mosquito infested areas. Best decision we ever made.

We are currently in Vietnam, follow along on Instagram!

  1. Great dress! I’ve been so in love with off-the-shoulder lately. Also how do you look so amazing! I remember looking like a mess during our whole Thailand trip! You’re beautiful~~

    Pink Wings

    • Right?!?! Off the shoulder is amazing :) Thank you, and the humidity is grueling, but honestly, I love it. My skin is SO dry in SF, so it is a nice change to have moist skin haha

  2. Ooh gorgeous dress and photos! This looks like such a beautiful place to visit, although I’m sorry to hear about the mosquitoes! Getting eaten up is no fun!

    • Thank you Shireen! I did my hair :) I have been practicing the braid for a while now and getting closer. This time I used a natural hair product to help the braid show up more (although I wish I had hairspray!). Any guesses the product…sea water 😉 definitely helped my hair hold the braid but it was terrible to brush out before the braid!

  3. Where do I start! You’re feeding my off the shoulder addiction here, the braid – i have no words, and this location/setting. Breathtaking! XO

    • Thank you so much Anna! I really am into the off-the-shoulder look! I wish I had more room in my bag to buy many more dresses!

  4. Thailand looks so breathtaking through your blog! I absolutely love the dress you’re wearing here. it’s so perfect for tropical weather :)

  5. You look so beautiful – this side plait massively suits you and I adore the dress, it’s so delicate! I’m really enjoying your blog as I find nothing so entertaining as travel mixed with fashion :)

    • Thank you Gabrielle! Other than the days I take fashion photos for the blog, I am pretty much a backpacker, so it is fun to get the opportunity to get dressed up and feel feminine.

  6. These are such fantastic photos and oh, how I yearn to visit a place with clear turquoise waters and endless skies! You look absolutely amazing; the dress is so pretty!

    • Thank you Shaelyn! It has been a work in progress learning to do that braid, so your kind words mean a lot!
