As my first unnecessary but necessary purchase while on this trip, this Glasson’s blanket wrap served me well while in Queenstown, which turned out to be much colder than expected. Also unexpected, the absolutely stunning and colorful trees. At times it looked like the trees were on fire because the colors were just so vibrant. As a lover of autumn, I was swooning over the trees, especially the ones surrounding Queenstown’s Lake Wakatipu. Autumn in Queenstown cannot be beat.
We stayed three nights, four days in Queenstown, and I could have stayed so much longer. As I like to refer to it, Queenstown is the adventure capital of New Zealand. You can bungee jump, ride a speed water jet boat, hike, climb and sky dive. After my accident last year, I have been a little hesitant to do anything too adventurous, so I opted for the Shotover Jet Boat experience! Kate Middleton road the jet boat, so I figured, I could too.
While in Queenstown, there are many delicious places to eat, but I really cannot recommend Fergburger, Fergbaker and Ferg Ice Cream more highly. The burgers are so juicy, the meat pies and pastries make you happy you own stretch jeans and the ice cream, well, just be glad you have a sonic care tooth brush because the deliciousness of the sweets would keep any dentist employed!
