As an art lover, I have taken thousands of photos of beautiful pieces. I have cherished these photos as reminders of my travels and tokens of my appreciation for others’ innate talents that I do not possess. With that said, I have never really owned a true piece of art. Well, that is, until Valparaíso!

As I mentioned last week, Ryan and I took an amazing street art tour of Valparaíso, Chile. If you missed the tour, click here! Our guide, Rodrigo was phenomenal and took his tour one step above all the others. Recognizing how much we loved the work of UnKolorDistinto, he offered to introduce us and take us to their workshop. It was such a privilege to get to enter their workshop, and meet the duo behind Jekse and Cine. Meeting Sammy and Cynthia in their workshop was beyond a highlight for Ryan and I.
So a little about Jekse and Cine:
-Typically, when UnKolorDistinto paints together, they like to illustrate couples. When they are working separately, they paint individuals.
-In 2000, Valparaíso noticed their work and began commissioning them for pieces around the city.
-UnKolorDistinto’s largest commission yet was a ten-story building in Valparaíso – watch this amazing Youtube video below of them completing the project!
Sammy and Cynthia recently left Chile for Finland, where they have been commissioned for pieces around the country. So keep an eye our for UnKolorDistinto on Instagram. I promise you, their art does not disappoint.
