Cozy Camel & Avoiding Pilling

Turtleneck: Gap; Sweater: JMclaughlin (c/o); Jeans: Joes; Shoes: Manolo Blahnik; Purse: Hermes; Sunglasses: Prada; Earrings: Banana Republic; Bracelets: David Yurman; Watch: Michele

A classic black and camel outfit is always perfect, which is why I have been wearing this outfit on repeat. I love how the JMcLaughlin cashmere cardigan drapes, It just feels so lady like. BUUUUT as much as I like to wear cashmere, I am always nervous to wear it too often. Why you ask? Because no matter what you do, cashmere pills, it is just the nature of the garment. So I have been very careful with this cardigan. I think the best way to maintain sweaters is to not carry your purse on your shoulder, that way it will not create friction on one side of the garment and thus, the largest contributor to lopsided pilling is avoided! Hooray!

  1. Chelsea I love a good wrap cardigan, especially in a neutral color. You look great!

Thanks for linking up to WWW, on Christmas Eve.

Hope you had a Merry Christmas. Here is to a Wonderful 2015!!

  2. I live in Upstate NY where it is cold from September to May so my sweaters get a lot of use and they do end up pilling (some more than others). I’ve tried sweater shavers (which put holes in my sweaters) now I have a Gleener which works okay but not great. The tip about not wearing your purse on your shoulder is a good one. I never thought of that. Love the black and camel combo. You looks so chic!

    • Hi Liz,

Thank you so much for your reply! I have also tried all those sweater shavers but really, I have not felt like it helped the longevity of my sweater! I know not wearing a purse on your shoulder is kind of a silly suggestion, but it has really helped this sweater!

Stay warm and Happy New Year!
