My favorite part of traveling is getting the opportunity to see parts of a city that are not touristy. So while in DC, we spent a lot of time in Columbia Heights, which is in the Northwest Quadrant of the city. Over the last couple of years, Columbia Heights has seen a resurgence with new shops, bars and restaurants. The neighborhood has gorgeous brownstones mixed with colorful new construction. One of my favorite mornings in Columbia Heights was getting brunch at Mad Momos. We were able to sit outside, enjoy mimosas, and order gritz galore.
Below is a picture of one of my favorite streets in Columbia Heights. Love seeing the old and the new architecture coexisting and thriving together creating a vibrant community life.
