Ahhh lazy weekends. Is there anything better? This Saturday Brendan and I strolled our neighborhood and took in the afternoon sights, sounds and, frankly, smells of lower-ish nob hill and the Polk gultch. We’ve lived in this apartment an entire year and sadly still haven’t tried quite a few of the near-by restaurants, shops and pubs. What kind of locals are we?!
I’ve made a commitment to familiarizing myself with all of the Nob Hill spots I haven’t tried, but I’ll never ditch my go-to coffee spot, Contraband Coffe Bar. This coffee shop started as my failsafe because it’s the closest to my house and let’s be real… when you’ve had a long night and you have to be at work early the next day, the closest caffeine is the best caffeine. Contraband has more than proximity though; the coffee and teas are outstanding and it’s got a great vibe, always showcasing local art on the walls. For our lazy afternoon we grabbed lattes and enjoyed the ‘sweater weather’… warm enough for no jacket but too breezy for a lone top. This patterned mid-length sweater is one of my all-time favorites for living in San Francisco because it’s warm but light enough to layer when the sun goes down.
More posts on local eats and shops to come as I explore more of my hood!
