You know you have been living in the bay area for a substantial amount of time when you encounter a heat wave and you do not own any shorts or the shorts you do own, fit weird, are faded or were bought when you were in high school. So my friends, this was the predicament I was in last weekend. I had heard great things about Club Monaco’s shorts for their Spring 2014 collection, so I figured I would check it out. I found these adorable floral shorts with scalloped (I really love scallops) details that I just fell in love with. They were the perfect weekend short.

  1. I love scalloped shorts and these look great on you! Do you think these would be appropriate for work (in a creative office)? I’m always hesitant to wear shorts to the office but sometimes it’s so hot I really want to!

    • Hi Jamie! The “can I wear shorts to work dilemma” has plagued me for a few years now. I remember wearing shorts to work early on in my career (I also work at a creative company) and thinking nothing of it. However, as the day progressed, I started to feel a little uncomfortable in meetings and had second thoughts on my shorts decision. So the long answer is, these shorts are tailored, silk and a work appropriate pattern, but I think it depends on your comfort level with your office and coworkers.
