– casual and comfy for a redwood roadtrip –

As an end-of-year bonus, my company very generously gave me two nights at the Ventana Inn in Big Sur, CA. Excited to have a weekend away, Brendan and I hopped in the car and made our way down scenic Highway 1 to enjoy a relaxing couple of days in one of the most naturally stunning regions of California. On our way down we stopped at Pfieffer State Park to take in the epic redwoods and dip our feet in the cool creek running through the park. This ensemble is one of my go-tos for traveling for two key reasons: a. the layers make it easy to adapt to changing temperatures, and b. it’s ridiculously comfortable. Speaking of adapting to changing temperatures… it was a little windy on the drive down!

Pictures and words don’t do this amazing coastline justice; it’s absolutely breathtaking. If you haven’t had an opportunity to visit this beautiful area, put it at the top of your list. I promise you you’ll be glad you went. More to come about the luxurious Ventana Inn later this week!
